In the next section of the book, Mia is still in a coma, and still in spirit watching over herself. Her grandparents come to visit her, along with other immediate family. Her grandparents are the only people that actually get to see her though. Later, her grandparents leave and question if she is deciding if she wants to live or not. The next day, her boyfriend Adam and friend Kim try to come in and see her. Adam flips out and almost get security called on him because they wont let him see her. Honestly, I think it is really sad that they wont let him see her because it could help her with her healing process.

Mia is a 17 year old girl who had everything see needed. A loving musical family and a musical boyfriend whos career was quickly getting better. In the book Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen, Ruby is 17 and living alone in an old rugged house. Her father was never there, her sister left years ago, and her mother disappeared two months ago. Her mom was an alcoholic and a druggy and always seemed to disappear, but this time she never came back. Ruby was working her moms’ job just to get by, and always tried to cover when the land lord came over to check on them. The land lord came over one day when Ruby was in school. They then realized that there was no running water in the kitchen, appliances didn’t work, and the place was infested with rodents. The land lord called Child Protective Services to get Ruby into a new home. She ends up getting placed into her sister’s home and has to switch schools. She hated it. She tried running away, skipping school to drink and smoke pot, only to make the situation worse. What would you do if you were in her situation?
